Raw Materials

Softwood Pulp

Pine and spruce are the species used to manufacture long-fiber softwoods. The long cellulose fibers impart excellent tensile strength and wet resistance to the paper and wrap around the moist flowers without tearing.

This paper can be used either bleached or unbleached, based on the desired look. Bleached or unbleached pulps have minimal lignin and excellent fiber bonding and durability. If you need white or colored flower wrapping paper, we use chlorine or peroxide to eliminate the brown color of the paper. 

 Additives And Sizing Agents

To enhance the functionality of the paper, we use additives and sizing agents. They enhance the moisture resistance of the paper and make it easy to print while retaining its flexibility. The additives and sizing agents are as follows: 

Wet‑Strength Resins

In wet resigns we use a small percentage of PAE (polyamide epichlorohydrin). This resin boosts the wet strength of the paper and prevents it from tearing when the stems of teh flowers exude moisture. Surface Sizing

As a sizing agent, we use Rosin or AKD (alkyl ketene dimer) which improves the print surface of the paper and keeps it water-resistant. It prevents ink bleeding at the time of printing and enhances moisture resistance. 

How Do We Manufacture Impeccable Quality Paper

Pulping (Kraft Process)

In this step, wood chips are cooked in caustic soda and sodium sulfide solution. Teh temperature is kept at approximately 170 degrees Celsius. In this process lignin dissolves and cellulose fibers are freed without excessive degradation. The resulting pulp is washed and screened to wash residues and get a smooth paper sheet.

Sheet Formation

The pulp is diluted up to a consistency of 0.5 and deposited on Fourdrinier wire. The excessive water drains from the water, and a wet mass of paper is achieved. The sheet is conveyed through steam-heated dryers, and additional water is drained till the moisture is retained up to 5%.  

Calendering And Microcreping

The paper sheet is passed through calendar stacks that smoothen and densify the paper and take it up to the thickness of 60–90 g/m² for flower wrap. After this, we did micro creping (controlled shrinkage) that elongated the paper 4 to 8% in the machine direction and up to 10 % in the cross direction. This added flexibility to the paper so that it can conform around bouquets without splitting or tearing. 

Technical Specifications

Basis Weight (GSM) And Thickness

Tensile Strength

The tensile strength of the paper in the machine direction (M/D) and cross direction (C/D) ensures that the paper can resist breaking under tension while handling. This is necessary to make sure when you wrap a large bouquet the paper remains tera-free. It also allows the paper to stretch so that it can conform to curved or complex shapes without cracking.
